Hartmann Tresore has been one of the leading providers of security solutions for over 150 years. Today, more than 200,000 customers in Germany, Europe and the Middle East rely on the company's tested safes and excellent service. In 2023, Hartmann Tresore commissioned studiokurbos to develop a new safe design that harmonizes value protection and living room aesthetics. The resulting “Simonas” series by studiokurbos, named after the Hartmann employee Simonas, who led the project on behalf of the traditional company, includes three safe models in different sizes - from compact to large - combining value protection and living room aesthetics.

The series was to combine the highest security standards with the relevance of a piece of furniture. The studiokurbos team wanted to decouple the safe from its typical niches such as cellars or storage rooms and position the safe in the center of the home. The models were designed to embody the brand values of Hartmann Tresore, such as responsibility, quality and customer service, as well as to meet high interior standards.

The design process focused on the modularity of the safes. The design of “Simonas” is based on a stringent formal language that emphasizes robustness and elegance in equal measure. studiokurbos conducted extensive interior research and developed a colour palette based on the most popular wall colors for living spaces of our time. As a result, the safes fit seamlessly into various modern living styles. The modularity of the safes allows for flexible adaptation to different requirements without compromising on the aesthetics of the design family.

For “Simonas”, studiokurbos focused on a precise balance between function and design. The facings of the safes were designed in a minimalist style typical of the brand. Logos were subtly integrated on handles and bolts, which strengthens the recognizability of the Hartmann Tresore brand without compromising the clarity of the design. The sense of security is conveyed by solid handles, bolts and hinges. The combination of a well thought-out color concept, discreet brand presence and minimalist design makes “Simonas” a trend-setting product line that harmonizes security and living room aesthetics.
