Commissioned by RUF Automobile GmbH, studiokurbos designed the RUF CTR 3 EVO sports car. The CTR 3 EVO builds on the established CTR 3, presenting a refined second generation. With a subtly updated front and rear design, including stylish color accents, the vehicle has been refreshed. The CTR 3 EVO also features a custom-developed engine based on the original RUF CTR3.

The CTR 3 EVO is a truly one-of-a-kind masterpiece, a “1 of 1” model that stands as a testament to exceptional design and craftsmanship. We oversaw the entire creative journey — from the earliest conceptual sketches to intricate 3D modeling in both VR and CAD. Collaborating closely with a select team of engineers and guided by renowned designer Tony Hatter, we crafted a distinctive, character-rich design that defines the essence of the RUF CTR 3 EVO.

Starting with design sketches, a 3D polygon model was created in a digital design process. The design was refined in VR, then optimized in CAD for production data. Creative methods were used to incorporate the characteristic features of the original into the new design. New parts reflect the original’s distinctive features, giving the CTR 3 EVO a strong identity while respecting its origins.

Upgrade
The front from the CTR 3 EVO was enhanced with a modified profile and aerodynamically advantageous fins. A color separation in the side skirts connects the rear with the front, creating visual unity. The rear hatch now includes a new seam, blending aesthetics with functionality for seamless access to the engine compartment without affecting the spoiler.
